Alaska’s first radio station, KFQD-AM, signed on the air from Anchorage in 1924. It’s hard to find much about the station’s history.
KFQD is a 50,000-watt clear channel AM station, now broadcasting on 750 AM, owned by Morris Communications. It simulcasts on 103.7 FM, a 250-watt translator.
There is a KFQD Park in Anchorage.
